Hi, I'm Abi Prie!

I'm a painter and illustrator based and raised in the greater Seattle area.

I am curious about the other worlds within our own — life, death, and the in-between — and create story-pieces about the portals which take us there.

Prominent imagery in my work includes: monsters, Magic, quilts, skulls, portals, bodies, Divinity, hands. You will see references to medieval art, iconography, folktales, and textiles throughout my story pieces.

I paint on wood panels when I want to make a doorway big enough to walk through, and I draw with ink pens or digitally when I want to examine the matters at hand through a smaller window.

I hope to blur the lines between the physical and mystical worlds and create tall tales about things that might have happened long ago, or exist just on the other side of a doorway.
